Graphic Designer

Handles client project presentations, manages client discussions, and balances client requirements with the dictates of sound design.

Supervises photo shoots: oversees photographers, lighting and technical set-up, instructions to photographic subjects and logistical planning. Implements the concepts of the creative staff.

Advises hospital staff on design of graphic projects in traditional and digital media to meet their stated visual communication goals.

Designs and produces slides, posters, and digital presentation materials for exhibitions, symposia and appropriate hospital uses.

Liaises with the Printing Shop, IT and outside vendors to ensure the suitability of a design to its final use. Ensures that digital files sent to outside vendors are formatted correctly and include all information necessary for production.

Meets all design requests and specifications generated by the Print Shop. Prepares digital files per pre-press specifications of the Print Shop.

Graphic design and page layout of complex multi-page documents including hospital journals, reports and booklets. Design of logos and other graphic images used for identification and promotion.

Designs hospital forms in accordance with the Hospital’s published abbreviation, formulary and graphics standards, referring to standard reference guides (Stedman’s Medical Dictionary) as necessary.

Provides public relations photographic coverage and photography of medical equipment and instrumentation as directed.

Provides photographic services to the Operating Rooms and Pathology Department (morbid specimens) as requested.

Organizes and maintains efficient work schedule which accommodates routine and “urgent” requests.

Maintains inventory and stock reports of all equipment and photographic supplies. Advises of stock definitions in a timely manner.

Monitors quality control of digital photographs and prints.

Performs all duties in a professional, effective and confidential manner.

Performs all other related duties as required or assigned.
