Infectious Diseases Consultant

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Recognizes and takes appropriate corrective action (including request of consultation).                                                                          

2.Maintains an accurate record through TrakCare/ Innovian/ Workstation.                                                                             

3.Accountability to Medical Executive Committee and Medicals Director for all professional activities.                                                                               

4.Conduct of Professional activities according to Medical Staff By-Laws.                                                                

5.Scope of professional activities within the extent of clinical privileges granted by the Credentialed Committee and approved by the Medical Executive Committee.                                                                   

6.Active attendance and participation in Medical Staff and Hospital Committees and programs, including but not limited to the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) and the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPC).                                                               

7.Provide consultation on microbiology-related matters, including the interpretation of microbiological results and recommendations related to infectious diseases and antimicrobial therapy.                                                                               

8.Active participation in call as designated.                                                               

9.Carry out variety of job related functions which may not be specifically listed herein, but as requested by the Chairman of Internal Medicine and Employee Health or Chief Medical Officer.                                                                             

10.Performs his/her duty in the patient and family education.                                                                        

11.Performs all duties in a professional, effective and confidential manner.                                                                          

12.Performs all other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/ Licensure/ Professional Experience:

1-M.D. Degree from a fully accredited medical school. (Essential).

2-Certified Internal Medicine under the standards of Saudi Board of Internal Medicine, American Board, the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent

3-Clinical Fellowship Certification under the standard of Saudi Infectious Diseases Fellowship or its equivalent (Essential).

4- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience after obtaining board certification (Essential).

5-Classified and Registered by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties as Consultant (Essential).

6-Current valid certification of Basic Life Support (Essential).
