Take overall responsibility to deliver safe and quality healthcare to the eligible patients of KKESH&RC within the allocated resources of the hospital. To perform his/her clinical and academic responsibility in accordance with the hospital’s policies and procedures and in line with Approved International Standards. All medical staff rankings are guided by the policy and procedure no. M06-006 "Medical Staff Rank System (Ophthalmologists)”.
المهارات
Education / Licensure:
Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized Medical school (Essential).
A certified ophthalmologist under the standards of the Saudi Board of Ophthalmology or its equivalent (Essential).
Clinical Fellowship Certification under the standard of Saudi Ophthalmology Fellowship or its equivalent (Essential).
Current valid medical license as consultant in ophthalmology or its equivalent to practice the specialty by the Saudi Council for health Specialties (SCFHS) (Essential).
Current valid certification of Basic Life Support. (Essential).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides quality clinical care in efficient manner |

2. |
Complies with the standards of clinical practice. |
|
3. |
Complies national and international quality and safety standards. |
|
4. |
Supervise the junior staff and their functions. |
|
5. |
Conducts him/herself in ethical and professional manner. |
|
6. |
Providing consultation services within the division and in other divisions and departments in the hospital as requested. |
|
7. |
Abides to the duties according to on-call rote and sharing workload / replace duties in case of vacation of other consultants. |

8. |
Adhere to the granted privileges as per Medical Admin approved. |
|
9. |
Informed of the current hospital policies , procedures and objectives. |
|
10. |
Attend regular meetings with the members of the division. |
|
11. |
Carry an appropriate clinical load. |
|
12. |
Maintain good relationship with other staff and team members. |
|
13. |
Participate in all educational activities of division such as (Combined Teaching Round , Journal Clubs, Grand Round , conferences, seminars and symposia related to his/her subspecialty) and train junior staff to acquire skills in performing specialized procedures with encouraged and expected. |

14. |
Supervise the training of the ophthalmology residents and fellows and encourage continuing medical education related to his/her subspecialty. |
|
15. |
Participation in research projects related to his/her subspecialty in collaboration with Department of Research. |
|
16. |
Accepts membership in hospital committees when needed. |
|
17. |
Participate in the development of the division’s objectives ,planning and resources allocation. |
|
18. |
Performs his/her duty in the patient and family education. |
|
19. |
Performs all duties in a professional, effective and confidential manner. |
|
20. |
Performs all other related duties as required or assigned. |
