Qualifications:
1. Education/ Licensure/ Professional Experience:
1.1. Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Respiratory Therapy or Respiratory Care from an accredited university with minimum of one (1) year of experience as Respiratory Therapist in a hospital larger than 100 beds capacity (Essential).
1.2. Valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) Classification and Registration in good standing (Essential).
1.3. Current valid certification of Basic Life Support (Essential).
1.4. Current valid certification of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Essential).OR
1.5. Current valid certification of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Essential).
المتطلبات والمسؤوليات
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Demonstrates current respiratory care knowledge with the ability to apply basic patho-physiology in the disease process.
2.Demonstrates competent technical respiratory therapy skills related to oxygen administration and aerosol treatment: safe handling of equipment, delivery of oxygen through various devices, performs aerosol treatment via open face tent, aerosol mask and croup tent, performs aerosol medication delivery and ultrasonic nebulization, performs sputum induction.
3.Demonstrates competent technical respiratory therapy skills related to pre and post-operative prophylactic and therapeutic treatments for various conditions; performs chest physiotherapy and postural drainage, performs pulmonary function tests.
4.Demonstrates competent technical respiratory therapy skills related to airway management including suction and lavage techniques, performs arterial and capillary blood gas procedures, interprets blood gas results, performs ventilator support of maintenance, monitors patient condition and ventilatory status, Non-invasive ventilation (high/Low flow) (CPAP/Bibab) setup & Administration
5.Demonstrates knowledge and skills required in recognizing potential emergency situations, code blue or other emergency situations are managed competently, Invasive Ventilator setup & Administration, Knowledge about Ventilator’s different Modes and indications.
6.Assesses respiratory status, based on subjective and objective findings; identifies patients at high risk for potential respiratory complications; develops plan of care and makes recommendations to medical / nursing staff concerning the treatment plan.
7.Provides respiratory care and performs respiratory procedures under the supervision of the Chief Respiratory Therapist; evaluates the effectiveness of the treatments and recommends modification to the treatment plan; makes regular patient rounds to monitor the status of the respiratory equipment, working in HDU.
8.Provides accurate, complete and prompt reports on patient care problems to the Chief, Respiratory Therapist, Unit Charge Nurse and Medical Physician as necessary; documentation is informative, complete, accurate, concise and legible, patient records are reviewed regularly for completeness.
9.Collaborates effectively with the multidisciplinary team; participates in multidisciplinary rounds.
10.Performs all duties in a professional, effective and confidential manner.
11.Performs all other duties as required or assigned.
