Responsible for the operations of the Social Services Department, provides consultation and represents the Hospital at community organizations, and coordinates/plans fund-raising activities.
المهارات
- Bachelor Degree in Social Studies or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience working as a Social Worker, three (3) years of which spent in a senior/supervisory level (Essential).
- Master Degree in Social Studies, Health Education, Public Health, Hospital/Heath Administration, Psychology or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of six (6) years’ experience working as a Social Worker, two (2) years of which spent in a senior/supervisory level (Desirable).
- Classified and Registered by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) (Essential).
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare facility/hospital setting (Essential).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Establishes protocols for the initiation of Medical Social Services in all settings. |
|
Completes an operation budget that reflects required workload, forecasted units of service, and program changes. |
|
Facilitates the employment, training and development of Saudi Nationals. Coordinates student training programs with Training and Scholarship Department and University Faculties. |
|
Interviews and selects staff according to area requirements and hospital recruitment processes. |
|
Ensures a completion of orientation and annual mandatory education requirements for all staff in the Department. |
|
Continually evaluates staff performance issues; utilizes staff development plans effectively; completes performance appraisals in a timely and objective manner; ensures continuing professional development of staff. |
|
Demonstrates equity and fairness in managing staff issues; implements corrective action in a fair and consistent manner in accordance with the Hospital Policy and Procedure. |
|
Demonstrates effective priority setting, time management and decision making skills; ensures staffing schedules; maintains sufficient staff to provide required services; makes provisional plans for anticipated deficiencies in staffing and skills. |
|
Performs all duties in a professional, effective and confidential manner. Performs all other duties as required or assigned. |
|
Directs the standards and delivery of social services; ensures policies, procedures and practices are in accordance with KKESH and International Standards; evaluates the standard of care delivery and patient outcomes. |
|
Demonstrates current clinical knowledge and skills; acts as a resource for Social Services and all Healthcare team; uses a systematic process to resolve patient care concerns; investigates social work practice issues and takes appropriate action. |
|
Manages caseload and staff hours to meet needs of patients and the hospital. Makes rounds to monitor delivery of Social Services. Ensures participation of Social Services staff in multi-disciplinary rounds; advises own complex patient’s social situations. |
|
Notifies the Associate Chief Patient Affairs Officer of management or clinical practice issues, areas of concern and actions taken. |
|
Represents Social Services Department and KKESH at conferences, symposia and working committees. Develops relationships with community agencies, groups, professional affiliations. |
|
Collects money donated for the patient charity fund. Coordinates annual Charity Markets and other fund raising activities for the charity fund. Oversees the dispersion of money from the charity fund for the purpose of patient support. Coordinates the provision of Hospital Housing sponsored by the Patient’s Friend Committee to accommodate needy patients. |
|
Coordinates the following annual events: Social Services Week; Special events for patients during Muslim Eid Festivities. Annual Social Work Symposium, and Chair or coordinate the Scientific Committee in conjunction with the Hospital Executive Symposium Committee. |
|
Participates in Hospital wide performance improvement activities; applies quality management strategies in area; initiates investigation into areas of concern and action improvement. |
