Job Description
The Biostatistician is responsible for proper statistical analysis of data and/or results of assigned research projects. This includes testing the validity and significance of the research results, as well as providing statistical advice towards the design and selection of subjects in research projects.
Requirements and Responsibilities
- Education/ Professional Experience/ Licensure:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics or equivalent from an accredited university (Essential).
- Master’s Degree in Biostatistics/Epidemiology or related field (Desirable).
- Minimum of three (3) years working experience as a Biostatistician, two (2) years of which in performing statistical design/ analysis in healthcare or medical related research.
- Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Participates actively in research activities whenever statistical designs of research projects and statistical preparation of research data for publication are appropriate. |
|
2. Tests the validity and significance, and statistically interpret data from research projects. |
|
3. Uses the computer competently in statistical analysis of research data. |
|
4. Participates in symposia, seminars and other continuing education activities at KKESH. |
|
5. Contributes to hospital quality improvement projects. |
|
6. Collaborates with epidemiologist and prevention of blindness programs. |
|
7. Performs statistics for the annual and monthly reports. |
|
8. Participates in the education of students, trainees, residents, fellows, and faculty by contributing to research projects as well as formal lectures. |
|
9. Performs all duties in a professional, effective and confidential manner |
|
10. Performs all other duties as required or assigned. |
