Qualifications
Education/ Licensure/ Professional Experience:
1. Bachelor degree in Science, English or Hospital Administration, Health information Management or equivalent from an accredited institute with minimum of two (2) years of experience in Medical Coding in acute healthcare / large hospital setting (Essential)
2. Classified and Registered Health Information / Hospital Administration Specialist/ Coding Technician from SCFHS (Essential).
3. Coding Citification such as RHIT, CCA, CCS. (Desirable)
Requirements and Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1-Accurately codes all established diagnoses and procedures for inpatient, outpatient and emergency records.
2- Codes a minimum of: Outpatient - Emergency: 120 records with provide the initial code for the (outpatient, emergency and insurance outpatient for revenue cycle management (RCM)).
Inpatient: 25 records with provide the initial Diagnosis-related group (DRG) for the inpatient.
3-Provides all the diagnoses and procedures codes and generate report from Trak Care /mainframe and prepare it as requested by physicians or researcher for research projects and physician’s studies.
4-Must codes all diagnoses/procedures at 95% accuracy.
5-Performs all duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner.
6-Performs all other duties as required or assigned.
