Education / Licensure / Professional Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory or equivalent from an accredited university with minimum of eight (8) years’ experience working in health care laboratory in the organ retrieval field, three (3) years of which spent at a senior level (Essential).
OR
Master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory or equivalent from an accredited university with minimum of six (6) years’ experience working in health care laboratory in the organ retrieval field, two (2) years of which spent at a senior level (Desirable).
Valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) Classification and Registration in good standing (Essential).
Requirements and Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day to day team operations within a specified scope, by undertaking related work processes and ensuring accuracy.
- Establish short and long-term strategic goals for the department in line with the management strategy and prepare and implement departmental plans.
- Prepares department budget in accordance with KKESH&RC requirements.
- Ensure compliance with national regulations, accreditation standards, and ethical guidelines
- Develop, implement, and monitor standard operating procedures
- Supervise tissue retrieval, evaluation, preservation, storage, and distribution
- Maintain quality assurance, infection control, and biosafety standards
- Coordinate and facilitate with other hospitals cornea tissue logistics and transportation
- Ensure availability and allocation of corneal tissue for transplant surgeries
- Schedule and prioritize tissue distribution based on clinical urgency
- Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and upgrading of eye bank equipment
- Oversee cold chain management and tissue traceability from donor to recipient
- Maintain accurate records, statistics, and performance reports
- Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvements
- Handle emergencies, incident reporting, and corrective actions
- Performs all duties in a professional, effective and confidential manner.
- Performs all other related duties as required or assigned.
