Fixed Asset Accountant

Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate records of acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation.

Calculate and apply depreciation schedules in line with accounting standards, posting monthly journal entries.

 Prepare asset-related reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

 Process fixed asset acquisitions and disposals, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with policies.

 Ensure adherence to accounting policies, GAAP/IFRS, tax laws and regulatory requirements.

Assist in policy development related to fixed asset capitalization, depreciation, and impairment reviews.

 Support the maintenance of fixed asset management systems, recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency.

 Assist in capital expenditure budgeting and forecasting, ensuring alignment with fixed asset needs.

Work with other departments to track assets and provide guidance on fixed asset management practices.

Reconcile general ledger accounts to sub-ledgers and ensure the integrity of financial data.

Conduct periodic physical verification of fixed assets to reconcile with the fixed assets register.

Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing documentation and resolving queries.

Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, such as IFRS and GAAP.

Work with other finance team members to ensure seamless financial operations.

Performs all duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner.
