Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate records of acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation. |

Calculate and apply depreciation schedules in line with accounting standards, posting monthly journal entries. |
|
Prepare asset-related reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. |
|
Process fixed asset acquisitions and disposals, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with policies. |
|
Ensure adherence to accounting policies, GAAP/IFRS, tax laws and regulatory requirements. |
|
Assist in policy development related to fixed asset capitalization, depreciation, and impairment reviews. |
|
Support the maintenance of fixed asset management systems, recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency. |
|
Assist in capital expenditure budgeting and forecasting, ensuring alignment with fixed asset needs. |
|
Work with other departments to track assets and provide guidance on fixed asset management practices. |
|
Reconcile general ledger accounts to sub-ledgers and ensure the integrity of financial data. |
|
Conduct periodic physical verification of fixed assets to reconcile with the fixed assets register. |
|
Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing documentation and resolving queries. |
|
Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, such as IFRS and GAAP. |
|
Work with other finance team members to ensure seamless financial operations. |
|
Performs all duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner. |
|
Performs all other related duties as required or assigned. |
Requirements and Responsibilities
Bachelors’’ Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited university with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a capacity of Accounting or related field (Essential).
Masters’ Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited university (Desirable).
Accounting certifications such as CMA, or ACCA (Desirable)
